Our Story

On January 15, 2023, Dylan Quinn was killed in a car accident. Dylan belonged to many communities including hockey, lacrosse, and Camp Ramsbottom. His life was a beautiful interweaving between what he received/how he grew from these communities and how he gave back and grew others. He was the varsity goalie for the Southeastern/Bristol Plymouth Hawks. He played face off/get off (fogo) for the varsity lacrosse team for BP. He was a junior counselor at Ramsbottom. He loved adventure and had many interests including fishing, snowboarding, metal fabrication, and motorcycles. The Dylan Quinn Community FUNd is continuing his legacy by connecting kids to the wonderful communities of the sporting world, summer camp, and by supporting organizations that provide these opportunities to kids.

May Quinny skate along the blue line of rainbows, shoot with the stars, feel the breeze in his flow, and lace up the hearts of his loved ones

Cara:  “Even as an infant, the movement that calmed him down was being swung wildly in the air.”

I’ll cherish memories from being in shop with Dylan, the "Glue Guy" or "DQ", always cracking jokes in school and being super proud of his welding projects.

Cara:   “He loved to kick the ball into the net and then throw himself in after it… every time. The college kid running the class nicknamed him ‘The Tuna.’ I guess his love of the net started back then.”

Landon:  “I will never forget the days we went snowboarding together.  Dylan would try to hit a jump and completely fall and we would just sit on the side of the mountain, laughing.”

Kris Garcia:  “Dylan had a knack for getting his whole class in trouble, but somehow he could charm his way out of it and the next day they would love him again.”

Ava:  “Everyone in your presence was in a better mood because of you.”

Cara:  “He even had a reputation for being the ‘King of Ramsbottom’”

Mark Lebeda:  “Dylan loved to help coaches and help the team.  It takes a special person to be an ice hockey goalie.”

Cara:  “Some of his daring, stunts, and teasing used to drive me crazy. Now, I am grateful that he didn’t buckle to the pressure to conform to someone else’s standard of what ‘appropriate’ is.”

Rob Peters:  You gonna be all right eating all that food right before the game?  Dylan:  Yeah.

Cara:  “I was going through my camera roll and found a picture of our house from a much higher angle, followed by a selfie of Dylan at the top of a tree with that same angle of the house in the background. He really just did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do so much.”

Tom Corey:  “We needed a goalie.  I asked DQ, and without hesitation he was nice enough to help us out.  Even though DQ didn’t live in or near our town, he was willing to help out.  He had no problem fitting in; upon entering the locker room I saw him riding on top of Landon’s shoulders like he was riding a bull.“

He enjoyed life, and taught us all how to be in the moment and enjoy the moment.
